After I recently posted a semi-complete “How To” Documentary/Scientific Analysis/Expose on the rapidly growing field of analytical and highly instinctive Stock Dog Associates (SDAs), a couple of folks have accused me of providing some investors with an unfair advantage. (This is completely true of course. ) Collectively, they asked questions like:
- What about non-pet owners?
- What if I am allergic to Dogs?
- What do I do if I live in an apartment that doesn’t allow pets?
- What if my wife is a cat Person? Should I get a dog loving girlfriend?
Now…to be sure, these are legitimate and concerning issues. It was not my intent to radically tilt the investing field in favor of those highly intelligent investors whose results have been richly enhanced via the use of SDAs. However, to be fair, I can now reveal a very highly rated alternative to SDAs that produces a very handsome array of additional points to the bottom line performance of those who have the technical skills to employ this advanced technology:
Little Yellow Rubber Ducks…or… LYRDs to this highly technical approach to investing. Here is how the LYRDs system works:
Note: The LYRDs system can be used to add funds or dispose of companies in your current portfolio. I personally find that the LYRDs system is best used for effectively evaluating Watch List stocks.
-
Purchase 25 LYRDs. Note: Some people have tried this with real ducks with absolute failure. LYRDs are made of rubber while real ducks have feathers, make a lot of noise, poop everywhere, and have to be fed. However, don’t worry - it’s fairly easy to tell the difference between LYRDs and real ducks and a pretty high percentage of people who use this system manage to purchase LYRDs and not real ducks.
-
For this investing strategy you need unfettered access to a pool, a flowing stream/river, or a concrete curb gutter.
-
You will need a Black magic marker.
-
Next - take the marker and write the stock symbols of the companies in your portfolio (or alternatively stocks on your Watch List) on the backs of the LYRDs.
-
Once you have marker-tagged all your LYRDs put them all in a large sack, a box, bucket or anything that will hold them all and at the same time allows you to shake them up. Note: This is a very important step!
-
Now mark or designate a ‘Winners Circle’ at the end of your pool. If you are using a fast moving stream or river it’s best to have a finish line about 150 yds away and about 50 yards for a concrete curb gutter. Additionally, a fishing net with a 4-5 foot handle is certainly helpful. Key Tip One: Experienced LYRD Masters always make sure, that If they are using a concrete curb gutter, to make sure that there is not a sewer drain between your starting point and your finish line.
Now you are ready!
Key Tip Two: make sure you have a way of notating the order of finish of your LYRDs. Not recording finish data would be considered a serious flaw in the LYRDs system.
Key Tip Three: If you are going to use a concrete curb gutter for your LYRDs Track - wait until it rains. The LYRDs system will not work without water flowing rapidly in the gutter and using a garden hose or a fire plug is not advised.
Now you may be asking yourself if LYRDs really works. Seems like a fair question to me. The only thing I can say is that everything I know about investing, such as that might be, I learned from David and Tom. Draw your very own conclusions
and make your own decisions.

A Rare Markable Unmet Need:
In Latin, “mirum” means remarkable, wondrous, or extraordinary. Here at Mirum, we see beyond rare diseases—we see the people. With creativity and heart, we light the way for those searching for hope. Because every breakthrough we make is not just medicine—it’s a moment of joy, a chance for patients to live fully. So - should MIRM be added to Scout Team Prospects? I dunno - as a rule I don’t invest in restaurant companies nor Pharmaceuticals. What makes MIRM important is that they have a FDA approved drug that treats Liver disease. This is BIG!
