“production will begin “in roughly 30 months” – the fall of 2025.”

“global EV production capacity of 2 million vehicles a year in place by the end of 2026.”

" The $5.6 billion BlueOval City complex, which is being jointly developed with Korean partner SK On, also will have a battery plant capable of producing more than 40 gigawatt-hours worth of cells — enough supply up to half a million EVs a year."

You know how to stop production in Tennessee? Tell them that China is making the batteries.

And now production of batteries is moving to Korea. (To take advantage of the US Inflation Recovery Act provisions.)

I thought it was going to Michigan to be built with Chinese technology. I haven’t seen anything about abandoning that. Have you heard anything?

Andy

No change in the Ford plan as far as I know but there is a news report today of a Chinese battery venture building in Korea to take advantage of IRA.
