The Wendy’s in question hires people, but can’t retain them. The Arby’s down the street can retain staff. I have talked with the manager of the Arby’s, who has been there for years. She has pinched staff away from the Wendy’s. If Wendy’s enforced a non-compete clause, they could prevent their dissatisfied staff from going to the Arby’s down the street, for better pay and working conditions.
