Don’t forget there’s been a massive earnings jump 2021 well above trend, maybe look at 3 years earnings.
Looking at GOOGLE too. Love to hear what others think at CURRENT PRICE
I have posted some thoughts after Q3 on the GOOG board
https://discussion.fool.com/2021-q3-earnings-34968828.aspx
In general I tend to look at revenue instead of profits, as they can turn the profit dial up and down almost at will. Based on some historical trends anything under $2500 could be considered a good entry point for those that are confident in their business model (as I am). Of course the market can do anything in the short term, but I am confident that a buy at $2500 would look good several years from now.

tecmo,
I had the same impression after the terrific quarter. Love the reasonable multiple, enormous cash position, 50B in buybacks last year, ROE 40% and seem so well positioned for the next decade+. Added recently around $2700. Long time accumulator over the years since initial $200/share purchase in 2005.
I like Google’s business model, but there are changes in the online ad space (Apple restrictions and tracking cookie changes), and so it might be good to wait until after earnings are announced on Tuesday.
