But I have received a couple “cold calls” from a couple financial places with whom I have accounts.
In those instances, I’ve asked for verification that they are who they say they are.
So far, they’ve obliged my request.

I get dozens of similar scams via email. Don’t reply to or click on anything that seems ‘scammy.’ If you know WWW protocols there are multiple safe ways of checking/verifying emails.
