I have been using Zack’s Research Wizard for approx. 40 years for screening and backtesting. I have discovered some troubling bugs in recent years. I would very much love to switch to using the GTR1 backtester and stock screener, but I cannot figure out how to easily transition to using it (while I have simply the experience necessary for using Zack’s.) Is it something I can intuitively learn how to use, without understanding very much about coding?
With gtr1, having a basic coding background helps: breaking a task into a sequence of steps, debugging, consistent math use. gtr1 is math based, not natural language based. For more gtr1 discussion check out: shrewdm mechanical investing . If you post a screen idea, some one might convert it to gtr1, or walk you through the steps needed. Doesn’t hurt to ask.
You might also consider Portfolio123. gtr1 is wonderful and probably the best backtester available for retail investors, but depends on one person, and so could go dark anytime.
interesting. thank you so much!
