Yes. I usually went to Walmart every six months for an eye exam. Then one year when I had surgery and maxed out my deductible for the year, I went to an ophthalmologist for the 6-month routine exam since it wasn’t going to cost me anything out-of-pocket. Needless to say, it was an “eye opening” experience and explains a lot of the price gouging problems in US health care.
