I agree that there is a lot of fraud going on with the Medicare system. And I start with the $50 Billion worth of fraud committed by Medicare Advantage insurers that the Inspector General identified.
{{ Insurers added diabetic cataract diagnoses to 148 patients treated by Dr. Howard Chen, an ophthalmologist in Goodyear, Ariz. He said he saw at most one or two such cases a year.
He said he charges insurers $40 per patient to cover his costs for providing them with medical charts.
âIf they are just making stuff up, then why do they even need or want my charts?â said Chen.
In all, Medicare paid insurers about $50 billion for diagnoses added just by insurers in the three years ending in 2021, the Journalâs analysis showed. }}
American business thrives on skim, scam and fraud. Both Corporate DEMs and Republicans support it, and are collecting millions of dollars in campaign contributions from the perpetrators.
The problem with businessmen running government is they are inclined to give the least amount of services for the greatest amount of profits. So, while they cut services we should ask who profits.
Rick Scott, the person convicted of the largest amount of Medicaid fraud in history is a sitting senator right now! And these people think that Musk cares are all about rooting out fraud? It is so infuriating how stupid people can be.
Of course he canât. And nothing Elon has blocked has been proven to be a fraudulent payment or wasteful or abuse. None of it. He is just unilaterally shutting valves off because he wants to. A private citizen. With no oversight. Not elected. Not vetted. Not appointed by Congress. And agree with priestinacloset, it is so infuriating how stupid people can be. Elon just says âI think this was wasteâ and his minions go âhooray!â
USA society has deep deep gnarly roots in hysterical religious fervor, where imbecility and delusion are mistaken for faith power and any form of restraint on âinspired leadersâ is seen as feminist sabotage of divine guidance. As Historic Christianity fades Hysterical (highly profitable) Xtianity moves in and metastasizes.
Remember this?:
And what happened next? Well, Jerry Jr somehow knew that the Fixer experts would be found around Donald T, and so he contacted DTâs consigliare Michael Cohen and cut a deal â you give me guidance in âmaking this go awayâ and I give your boss my Mega Powerful level Endorsement as Godâs Instrument to Save America.
So forget about the old power structures, we are now in a Brave New World.
Ahh, Elon is further exploring cheap and dirty scapegoating of governmental structures to gain political pointsâŚ.
Iâd like to see the IRS given directives with budget to buy modern computers and leave paper processing behind, provide citizens with free but correctable appealable tax processing, and go after plutocratic tax rackets and frauds instead of merely making life a misery for most of the electorate.
Oh come on. Even if Musk wanted to go after Medicare Advantage fraud, the bipartisan culture of corruption in Washington thatâs taking big campaign contributions from the insurers would never allow it.
You are a sickening person and I donât care if that comment gets me banned. But it needs to be said. These people are not auditors. They have zero experience in that. People with that experience have chimed in on these boards to explain exactly why what Musk is doing is bad. But you seem to be laser focused on retribution. On anger. A private citizen is unilaterly determining what should and should not be paid. With ZERO EVIDENCE OF FRAUD OR WASTE. Just simply declaring âthis I donât like!â and youâre giddy and happy with it. You want Rome to burn. And I have zero respect or tolerance for people like this.
And that is the whole point. If they wanted to eliminate fraud and abuse they would have auditors, not software experts. They certainly would not have started by firing all those inspector generals. And one of the first groups they targeted as fraudulent, apparently, was Lutheran Services, who run nursing homes and homeless shelters, among other things. I donât know what their actual goals are, but nothing they are doing has anything to do with making government more efficient.
