Major junk food corporations driven by the profit motive have engineered process junk food to be addictive. Processed food is made tasty they add three main things: Sugar, Salt and Fat and Additives. But that engineered processed food is designed to make one want to eat more. It’s designed to create and feed a junk food addiction .
Addiction:it works for drug dealers and processed food corporations.
And with the concentration of business sectors it just takes a few corporate entities to dominate. In this case:Coca Cola, General Mills, Kellogg, Kraft, Nestle, P&G, and Pepsi.
Would be nice to see an updated chart. Since this one was made, P&G sold Pringles to Kellogg which later split its business in two, putting Pringles in the newly formed Kellenova which was quickly bought by Mars. (I think I have that trail correct). J&J split off Kenvue, which is being acquired by Kimberly-Clark and now J&J is splitting off their orthopedics business. KraftHeinz is working on a split of who knows what. PepsiCo bought Poppi, Rockstar, Sabra, etc. Coke bought Topo Chico and a few others. Nestle bought Vital Proteins and Nuun but sold their ice cream (into a joint venture, I believe) and most low-end water brands,
