Oil prices could climb well beyond Friday’s 7% spike, with Wall Street analysts warning the commodity could top $90 a barrel if the Israel-Iran conflict broadens dramatically.
On Friday, West Texas Intermediate futures (CL=F) and international benchmark Brent crude (BZ=F) settled at $72.98 and $74.23 per barrel, respectively. Both pared overnight gains that saw prices spike more than 13%.
It hasn’t been $1.99 here in decades, but this is Northern Calif…
I just topped up at the local Costco, $4.599, where the Standard, Shell, etc. are mostly $5.19… Don’t expect it top drop in the near term, or as far out as I can imagine… We bought a RAV4 Hybrid, so it’s of little consequence, retired, no daily commute, even long trips would be OK, if we were of the mind to wander… My F150, on the other hand, its 38 gallon tank gives me pause, but its seldom driven, so its 10 mpg don’t matter, either, for now…
Just more fantasies, like so many we see, hear, daily… I’ve tracked my mileage since 2009, none fell below $2/gallon, a few fillups were below $3, very few…
Filled up at Kroger yesterday for $1.84. But 0.80 was Kroger fuel points/reward so really $2.62. That is down about 0.20 over the past 2 weeks. East TN, FWIW.
Compared to national average, yes. There is another gas station about 10 minutes down the road that was selling for $2.47. It is outside of our normal movement pattern so not worth the hassle to go there just to fill up.
