**Nation’s top cancer hospitals slap hefty markups on drugs, study says**

**The nation’s preeminent cancer hospitals are charging commercial health insurers anywhere from double to seven times their costs of acquiring cancer drugs, a new study shows.**
**Most top cancer institutions are also keeping their prices secret in direct violation of Federal law, potentially exposing themselves to fines.**
**Only 27 of the 61 hospitals included in the study disclosed the negotiated price of at least one of those drugs, flouting federal price transparency laws....** [end quote]
Cancer drugs are extremely expensive. They may not be covered by Medicare Part D or by specific private insurance. If you (or someone you love) has cancer, compare prices before selecting a provider. The price difference may be shocking.
