Maybe cause and effect are backwards. Perhaps “bullies” are actually companies with very aggressive corporate cultures and as a result become a “big fish”.

When your product is sold out and customers are begging for the next available shipment, who gets it.
If you have other sources perhaps your order is less urgent.
This is a common problem for many companies when you have a “sold out” situation.
