LA County Fires

Ms. Wolf and I are monitoring the LA fires very closely.

I’m sure this will have a major impact on the CA economy and what impacts the CA economy will certainly ripple throughout the U.S. economy.

Most importantly to us, however, is that our youngest son, along with our DIL, 2 grandchildren, and a grand dog, live in Burbank. We just spoke with him while he was out walking the dog. He saw lots of smoke in the distance. They are preparing in case they are ordered to evacuate.

Kind of makes our snow and wind-chill single-digit temps look minor at the moment.

I have two friends in the area, both of whom have “marked safe” during this event, and both of whose homes have burned to the ground. One had time to get their photos and a few personal artifacts out, the other did not.

The comments under their posts, from local friends there, are amazing - including from others who have lost their homes to those just in wonderment at the 80-90mph winds.

Nerve wracking.

Our son just heard from friends who live 6 minutes from them and were told to evacuate. Son is turning off gas and water and heading north to Cambria and his aunt’s house (Ms. Wolf’s sister). They haven’t been told to evacuate yet, but they’re worried about air quality for the kids. They’ll keep in touch on the road.
