Let’s Stop the OT Pollution of Our Board
Our board is a sacred thing in a way. It has brought us previously unimaginable investing success because it has remained focussed on discussing and evaluating companies with high revenue growth.
Recently (because of our incredible success) our board has been flooded by new members who don’t understand the Rules of the Board, because this board, unlike others you have been on, has Rules. The Rules are posted every Monday (Monday Morning Rules of the Board). If you are new to the board, that would be a good place to start, followed by the Knowledgebase which you can link to in the right hand panel.
Unfortunately, recently our board has been drowned in a polluting deluge of Off-Topic and junk posts. Our board isn’t for discussing ETF’s, even those from ARK. It’s not for discussing “wonderful” little biotechs, or slow growing companies, or turnarounds (again, read the Rules). It’s not usually for one line posts. We have been tolerant but Off-topic posts will now be deleted as fast as possible and if anyone continues to break the rules, he can be barred from the board. (This has happened to more than a few people over the last few years). Otherwise, (if we don’t all work together on this), we will end up losing what we all come here for!
Thanks for your cooperation,
Saul
PS – Posts do regularly get deleted on this board, just going back a couple of days you will see blank spaces at 74961, 74979, 75006, etc. Please help so that we don’t have to do this. Think before you post.

I think it would help to expand the name of the board to summarize what it’s about. Instead of “Saul’s Investing Discussions”, it should be something like “Saul’s Investing Discussions (Growth Stocks)”, “Saul’s Growth Stock Investing Discussions”, or something like that. This way, anyone can see at a glance what this board is about.
This isn’t a Democracy, Hence Saul’s Investing Discussions. His board his right to name it anyway he would like. If you prefer to go to another board feel free to go there. If you need to see at a glance what this board is about then you really shouldn’t be posting. Look to the right and you can spend a couple days finding out what this board is about.

Agree. Yet…
It seems that many here believe the appending “OT:” to a subject line, along with a request that users reply off-board, is somehow acceptable. This is so wrong.

Guilty. I’ll stop. No need to passive/aggressively beat me up further.
My thought was that it would be easy for people who were not interested to skip the message if it was clearly labeled as “OT”. I intentionally did not post it during a time of high volume on the board. But I get it - if every other person on the board did the same thing the board would be full of junk. So, message received. Sorry for my obtusivity.

But while it’s better not to have OT posts at all, I’d have to admit that doing it that way, if you feel you just must post it, is SOOOO… much better than NOT marking it OT, and NOT asking asking for responses off-board, AND starting a long OT thread.
