Misdoings of JCs at Majors Auto Makers

OnStar no longer an option. The “option” that is a requirement.

White collar salaried outrage cause Ford to adjust bonuses.

The automaker said that the performance bonus formula would be based on a 54% bonus payout for its lower-level salaried workers and the managers to which they report and a 135% payout for its senior managers, regional directors, global directors, executive directors and vice presidents.

Not only did internal chat discussions at Ford reflect anger and shock, based on interviews with employees and confirmed with the company, but external job sites discussing the latest developments reflected a cynicism and outrage more common to the days of former Ford CEO Jim Hackett, whose tenure was rocked by drama and disruption as he worked to slash costs and make changes.

On Monday, Farley confirmed getting hundreds of emails protesting a new bonus structure, and explained that he and his team decided to double the dollar amount being distributed to thousands of lower-level workers while also cutting the bonuses for the top 40 or so corporate officers including Farley, executive chair Bill Ford and chief financial officer John Lawler.

Employees at Ford note that while the company appeared to want to save tens of millions of dollars by slashing bonuses for its workers, they can’t understand why Ford would penalize the people earning the smaller paychecks or why this would happen after the CEO held a town hall where he praised workers for their performance.

Because this how Masters of the Universe think. JCs ALWAYS deserve more!

Anyone who buys a new VW, has been bitten by “mandatory options” for years. Buy a new VeeDub and you automatically get “optional” monster mats, cargo blocks, first aid kit, and, I noticed a new one last fall: a USB to USB-C adapter, because VW only puts USB-C connectors in their cars.

As for Farley acting like Jim Hackett, I’m not surprised. That is how Shiny-land rolls: all the loot goes to those who already have the most. I have total contempt for Hackett, from his days at Steelcase. His constant blathering about “fitness” while never showing any coherent plan, was what I would expect from a “JC”. At Steelcase, Hackett laid off thousands as he shifted production to Mexico, and he cheapened the product a lot. I heard constant howls from the installers and project managers about the crap Steelcase turned out when he was CEO. The “Answer” panel system was specifically designed to shift labor costs from Steelcase to the dealers.

When I worked for an insurance company we had Steelcase desks made in the 1960’s. They were indestructible! Quality products no longer fit the planned obsolescence playbook JCs use now. All the electronic crap in cars make them expensive to repair. Or your iPhone a year old–time for an upgrade! I’m constantly receiving emails from my cellphone service provider pushing for a new cellphone. Junk emails as opposed to junk mail. Ah progress!

When you are in the corner office you can bankrupt the company and get well paid. It is called hard work when you claim no one else works these days.

I’m sorry, in advance. What does JC stand for in this context?

“JC”: “job creator” said with a great deal of sarcasm.

(L&S): “leaders and statesmen”: politicians who ignore the will of the people, in favor of their financial supporters.

In my role as a part time editor, you are repeating yourself here. You can stop at politicians. There isn’t any other kind. They all ignore the will of the people in favor of their financial supporters.

It was particularly blatant in Michigan, with the old (L&Ses) that were secure because they had gerrymandered districts, in the words of the court “to a historic degree”.

Michigan had an “Emergency Manager” law that allowed the Gov to appoint an EM to take over a “troubled” city or school district. The EM had authority to usurp the authority of elected officials, unilaterally void contracts, and impose wage and benefit cuts, all to make sure the entity did not declare BK, so the money interests, who hold the bonds, are paid in full. The situation in Flint, with the city water being so contaminated it was unusable, but the people were still required to pay their water bills, was an example of an EM in action.

“We The People” put a proposal on the ballot to repeal the EM law. The proposal passed by a wide margin. Seems the will of the people is clear, right? That should matter in a democratic process, right? The (L&Ses) simply passed a new EM law, with the same provisions, to replace the one the voters had repealed.

When I say "(L&Ses), it is not a compliment.
