Nearing Dividend Aristocrat status

Somewhat interesting article (to me) on 10 companies that are a year or two shy of being Dividend Aristocrats i.e. companies that have increased their dividend for 25, or more, consecutive years.

Why interesting?

  1. The number of tech related names on the list - four. Microsoft (MSFT) - who’d a thunk they would make this list?
  2. Surprised that utility company, The Southern Co (SO), was not already on the Dividend Aristocrat list. Then again, the insurance tickers - TRV and WRB are also somewhat of a surprise not being on the DA list already.
  3. Current holdings that make this list - Qualcomm (QCOM) & Nike (NKE). Though, in both cases, I didn’t opt for either company due to its dividend.
