Nervokid Portfolio Update - July 2021

This is my monthly portfolio update for the month of July 2021.

I am extremely thankful for this board and the tons of knowledge from various quadrants that are shared here continuously. In the short time I’ve been here, have found out about new companies that weren’t on my radar, reinforced conviction on companies I was already holding, and also found the conviction to get rid of many others. Thanks, everyone.

JULY 2021

Writing this from the island of Madeira, our home for the next 30 days or so. We arrived yesterday, managed to land on the 2nd attempt (landing here on a windy day is always an adventure), and our son fell sick shortly after, so things can only improve, I guess.

July didn’t see a lot of movement in the portfolio, made very few trades.
Excited for the next month that will be full of earnings reports for the companies I own, hopefully not a lot of surprises so we can relax a little.

In August I will also start a new separate portfolio, where the proceeds are meant to be split over the junior elements of the family - my kid and a few nephews - probably in 2040 or so. I don’t plan to discuss that here, as it will probably just be a lot of buy and hold with at least some of the top mentioned companies from this board, but am looking forward to pick those companies. I’ve always found much enjoyment in starting things, so this absolutely sounds like fun.

DOCS (new), UCD2 (new), PLTR, UPST, DDOG.

Added to some of my top convictions with Palantir, Upstart and Datadog, and started 2 new positions:

  1. UCD2 is the European ticker symbol for Voyager Digital (VYGVF in the US), crypto broker, so off topic here.

  2. DOCS is Doximity, a social network for physicians, that I’ve previously introduced on this post here:…

DOCS - With Doximity, I bought more than I wanted early on to lower base cost, sold afterwards to bring this position down to what I felt comfortable owning.

For positions started this year, starting price is where I first bought it.
For companies I was already holding in December, starting price is Dec 31 Close.

Regarding individual comments about companies I’m holding, not a lot to add - there’s 2 new companies on the portfolio, one I can’t talk about here, and about the other I’ve provided some exposition already (see link for Doximity post above).

For all of the remaining ones, the investing thesis still holds, and August should be the month where there’s some actual news, with all of the earnings reports coming in as soon as next week.

Have a great month, everybody! Happy Earnings Season to all.
