NVDA and other chip stocks

New research from Stanford/MIT has developed a prototype chip using carbon nanotubes and other nano structures as opposed to silicon based chip designs. This has created a entirely new geometric architecture for chip construction which is comprised of 3D stacks versus the current planer 2D geometry. This technology may well obsolete most silicon based architectures for logic, storage, sensors and even data transmission.

There’s no telling how long it will take for this to move from the lab to commercial production, but the research team is already working with fab shop.

Another bit frontier, and one that’s been talked about for a while, is quantum computing, which involves both software and hardware.
