Also, I would sometimes find free house advice in the “This Old House” message boards. Sorry but it has been a while there also. Not sure of a link.
Maybe Google something like “home repair forums” maybe?
Sad that these boards are in jeopardy of closing at TMF. I have gotten so much good advice over the years.
