Over 50% of seniors now in Medicare Advantage plans

Business prospers when people have poor arithmetic skills. Why would anyone want to divert $2,000 of their $13,500 annual Medicare benefit to fraudulent MA marketing & sales, an unGodly level of excessive Executive Compensation, and a for-profit bureaucracy designed to frustrate your access to health care when you need it.

Short answer? They’re paying for the convenience and simplicity or at least the appearance thereof. I can’t vouch for it 'cause I use the regular kind. I know my mother used MA and had no problems with it and had a ton of medical issues and lived to be 88. If the insurance company also made something, what’s that to her? She got hers, in spades, in one neat tidy package. I think the key to it is she lived along the I-95 corridor. Never gonna run out of doctors, clinics, hospitals, medical buck grabbers of any kind. If you don’t live there or Chicago or LA etc, but in Podunk, Frostbite Falls, the administrative convenience you buy will cause more harm than good.

I went with the Medicare supplement because it made sense for me. My in laws are in their late 80’s and they went with the supplement plan. After hearing their explanation on how it works vs the Advantage plans, it was an easy choice. USAA supplement G for $135/month and Part D for $6.75/month was who we went with, but there are many choices. My in laws have both used it for heart problems, procedures, orthopedic procedures, spine procedures, cat scans, MRI, heart scans etc and they have an old plan that is no longer offered through AARP and pay no deductible or copay! For me I wanted to go to any doctor I wanted (supplement plans) and with the advantage plans it pays for in network doctors and you can be penalized for going out of network. Also, if you travel the advantage plan will not have in network doctors. Also, if you want to travel out of state to see the best in the world at Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic Advantage doesn’t cover…doc
