Paxlovid, the Pfizer drug for people with early Covid, is prescribed for 5 days. Some Covid patients are experiencing “rebound” – a return of the infection after the drug course is complete. This is a perfect setup for breeding Paxlovid-resistant virus.

Doctors and patients need to become aware of this problem. Patients should test after finishing their Paxlovid prescription. If still Covid positive, ask the doctor for another course.
