Poll: $100,000 drop?

“I will be here to say “I told you so”.“

Thank goodness. I was worried

“BRK will definitely, definitely trade at 1.2BV again in the next 6 months.”

BRK’s price history has languished more around 1.2PBV - 1.3PBV than 1.5PBV.

From ycharts: P/B 1.533
From alphaquery: P/B 1.51
From microtrends: P/B 1.52

Looks like maybe that Jan 350 covered call is likely to pay off.

Unless, of course, the P goes way up while the B stays still.

divi, you are not factoring the buybacks. Buybacks provide a floor. If you may, there is a Buffett put on Berkshire share price now.

Jim’s clairvoyant thread from the near past!

Today’s high price (also the all time high to date) is $532,365.00
That’s 1.566 times last known book per share.
Do you think that, one day, the price will be $100k lower?
That would be $432,365.00, 1.272 times current known book, and drop of -18.8% from here.

Well, that question didn’t take very long to be settled. 111 days.

The short term price peak was the Monday/Tuesday after the poll, March 28/29. (depending on whether you look at top trade or highest close).
The $100k price drop target was exceeded this past Monday June 13.

Friday’s lowest trade of A shares cracked the $400k barrier at $399022, down -$133,343 from the poll date.
As usual, the B shares have sold off a bit more, so it’s another $500 equivalent drop for them.

Nobody knows the future, so certainly nobody can be faulted for not knowing it.
That being said, it is interesting to read some of the comments in the thread made before the price dropped.

gave fair warning we were in thin air….
…but the thought of the big Tax haircut (unlike living in Monaco) always getting in the way of selling.
