It’s long been a source of wonder to me that teachers get so screwed on pension fees since I learned that VALIC was taking about 3% per annum from the Texas Teacher’s Fund. Couldn’t one of the math teachers explain how much they were getting hosed?

What makes it worse, if anything, is the fact that investment advisors’ fees should be subject to competitive bidding for public entities.
