From kurt8: I usually ask if their sister is again available for certain activities. One clever spammer did once respond “No, she only does that on Mondays and today is Tuesday.”

Many years ago, while at work in my store I received a call from a female scammer.
As soon as she asked to speak to the owner I realized this was a ‘junk mail’ phone call.
I said: “Hold on, I’ll get him.” and laid the phone on my desk and went back to my paperwork.
A few minutes later I heard the dial tone as she hung up.
A few minutes after that the phone rang again.
When I answered she immediately hung up on me.
I guess I got to her;-)
