Delta Air Lines wants unruly passengers put on federal 'no fly' list
Such action would ensure that "individuals who have endangered the safety and security of our people do not go on to do so on another carrier," CEO Ed Bastian said.
Whoa, I thought it was automatic, but maybe per airline… Good, nail 'em!
Anybody care about due process? Or if an airlines says so, that’s it.
Airplanes are like ships. You have to obey the crew, whether you like it or not. Failure to do so is cause for being put “ashore”. Failure to obey a flight crew is a felony, I believe. Much less assaulting them (which apparently is happening more than in the past). And businesses can impose requirements to don’t exclude a protected class.
So, no, I don’t have a problem with it.

Does that need to be proven legally or is an accusation sufficient? It is one thing to ban an unruly customer on your airline, but it is another thing to ban your customer from obtaining a service from all providers for the rest of eternity.
I am not supportive of assaulting anyone on an airplane or anywhere else, I am just suggesting there are two sides to every story, perhaps an altercation between two passengers really didn’t transpire they way the flight attendant reported it. The FA could have entered the fracas in the middle and is unaware how it started. Or there were extenuating circumstances not included in the airlines accounting.
Maybe there should be intermediate penalties based on severity rather than the death penalty as the only outcome. Is wearing your useless cloth mask below your nose really deserve the same penalty as stabbing your seatmate with a plastic fork?

Both should be on no fly list. The second involves criminal charges.
“Does that need to be proven legally or is an accusation sufficient?”
The same logic should also apply to the other parts of the federal no-fly list.
But apparently the method by which a person gets on the list is not transparent, nor are they informed. And getting off it is remarkably hard.
Just sayin…

Not really. If the corporations agree to cooperate, then they do. “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone”. How often have you seen that sign in some establishments? Well, that’s what they’re doing. You don’t have a right to fly. It’s a privilege you have to pay for. If they don’t want you on their planes, well, they’re their planes. “Unruly passengers” is not a protected class, nor should it be.
