I agree. The easy way is to copy all your files to a storage device and then copy them to the new computer. External hard drive is especially attractive. It becomes a back up storage device for your files. And by disconnecting can be protected from hackers etc.
San Disk now makes cards with enough capacity to copy many files. Works well on a laptop. Does not require much space. External hard drive probably has more capacity especially if you have lots of photos or videos.
