Turns out Salton Sea may have a lot more lithium

… than Berkshire Hathaway Energy probably expected when it invested in a pilot plant to test the feasibility of extracting lithium from Salton Sea’s geothermal brine

’ Salton Sea has the potential to produce an estimated 375 million lithium batteries for electric vehicles — more than the total number of vehicles currently on U.S. roads, according to the analysis commissioned by the Department of Energy.’

Of course the technology is yet unproven, as is its commercial/ecological viability.
And battery grade lithium prices have tanked nearly 80% over the last year thanks to oversupply into a demand downturn
