UK Delays zero ICE from 2030 to 2035. Also heating conversion to heat pumps

UK thinks they have made good progress toward the net zero goal in 2050. Hence they can delay the target date for ending internal combustion engine vehicles.

“Sunak said he remained committed to the legally-binding target of reaching net zero emissions by 2050 but said Britain could afford to make slower progress in getting there because it was “so far ahead of every other country in the world”.”

“To ease what he described as “unacceptable costs” on British households from the energy transition he delayed a ban on new petrol and diesel cars until 2035 from 2030, said he would ease the transition to heat pumps from gas boilers in homes, and said he would not force any household to improve their insulation.”

The end of another PM in UK is coming.

Probably a popular move to “unburden” certain people. By the time the crunch comes at the end date, and the UK comes up way short in 2050, Sunak will be retired, and living a life of ease, and no accountability for the mess he created.

A skunk has a sweeter smell.

The blame goes to the Brexiters and the Tories.
