You guys live in a fantasy land.

Americans voted for Trump and America first agenda. End wars, stop illegal immigration, reduce regulations, reduce waste, fraud and abuse and end woke snowlflakes culture.

I predict Ukraine war WILL end, Zelensky will be thrown out and EU nations will vote like Americans did. It may be too late.for some European countries due to illegal immigration imbalance

Just as predicted from this clown.

Volodymyr Zelensky:

I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace.

None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.

We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same. Then we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work with the US to agree a strong final deal.

We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this.

Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive.

Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively.

So let us watch the fun as prices go UP–UP–UP and nothing about price reductions. The public will see the price increases and nothing else. Egg prices down YET ???

That was the issue last time: TIG refuses to provide security. Zelensky knows Putin can’t be trusted, so insists on a credible security guarantee.

Warmongers are losing. Everyone WILL fall in line and talk about PEACE now.

Populations of Europe and Canada will not support endless wars.

Tell it to Putin.

The US did provide security guarantees. The US promised to respect Ukraine’s borders, not use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, and support Ukraine in the UN if it were attacked.

Despite a range of sanctions and the threat posed by dependence on Russian energy, in the third year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, EU imports of Russian fossil fuels in particular remain largely unchanged, totalling EUR 21.9 bn, a 6% year-on-year drop in value but merely a 1% year-on-year drop in volumes.

Notably, EU imports of Russian fossil fuels in the third year of the invasion surpassed the EUR 18.7 bn of financial aid they sent to Ukraine in 2024.

In other words Zelensky has no cards.
He replied upon the president’s promise:“We have your back.”
That promise is only as good as long as he remains president.

Well, that’s interesting. Financing both sides.

I expect the agenda is to use tariffs to bludgeon the EU into buying it’s gas and oil from the US…the “energy dominance” thing. But the guy really needs to take a Dale Carnage course. The loot made from selling fuel to the EU would wildly exceed the cost of supporting Ukraine. Instead, he cuts off Ukraine, and pi$$es off his prospective customers in Europe.

Better that than the EU supporting Russia, IMO.

However, the surprise to me was that Europe is still spending billions on Russian exports.

That maybe the agenda but now the Canadians are talking to Europe and they have huge oil reserves so the U.S might get frozen out.

As they say, politics makes strange bed fellows. Supposedly (depending on who you read and where you get the data) the EU has spent more on Russian oil and gas than on Ukraine aid. Not a good look.

Plus, the phrase that applies to many situations, demographics is destiny. Not in the Ukraines favor. The average age of the Ukraine’s fighting soldier is 40. Russia has a massive millions advantage on fighting age men. A long drawn out war of attrition is only to their advantage. Ask Napoleon and Hitler how that turned out (yes, slightly different scenarios but the numbers still play out).

You want to waste money, material, and men, fight a war. There are no saints on either side, I’m just tired of the USA being the world’s policemen and arms supplier.

You keep forgetting Putin started this war. Convenient I guess. Also, wanting to take back your own territory from an aggressor is not warmongering. Confused how you could come to that conclusion. But I’m confused by most of your conclusions.

The Newsweek article cites data that the aid figures are smaller. Have you found numbers showing the aid is greater?

DB2

I do. 23.5 billion in oil to Russia and 142 billion in aid to Ukraine. Trump said that the United States gave close to 380 billion when they have only given 122.74 billion. How can anyone believe what Trump says. Half truths and lies mixed in with some truth.

By March 2024, mostly Western governments had pledged more than $380 billion worth of aid to Ukraine since the invasion, including nearly $118 billion in direct military aid from individual countries.[4] European countries have provided €132 billion in aid (military, financial and humanitarian) as of December 2024, and the United States has provided €114 billion.[5] Most of the US funding supports American industries who produce weapons and military equipment.[6]
