US regime finds another cash flow to skim

Seems that Nvidia and AMD will need to pay a 15% skim to the US government, to be allowed to sell their products in China.

Interesting, national security concerns can be waived with cash?

Washington has previously banned the sale of Nvidia’s H20 chips to Beijing over security concerns, although the firm recently announced that this would be reversed. These powerful chips are used in artificial intelligence applications (AI).

“You either have a national security problem or you don’t,” said Deborah Elms, head of trade policy at the Hinrich Foundation. “If you have a 15% payment, it doesn’t somehow eliminate the national security issue,” Ms Elms told the BBC.

The deal is “unusual” says an analyst on bubblevision.

The arrangement crafted by U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration is “unusual”, analysts told CNBC, but underscores the transactional nature of the current White House leader.

This opens up an interesting door in US trade. For a number of years now, Huawei comm equipment has been banned from the US, and some other, telcom systems. Could payment of an “access fee” to the US regime, sweep away those national security concerns too?

Is this all part of that swamp draining I keep hearing the guy in charge is going to do any moment now?

It’s gone from bubblevision’s site now, but an hour ago, there was an article that was pretty up front: “monetizing US policy”.

Of course, a JC would tell you monetizing everything in sight is a good thing. As offered before, to a JC, everything, including the viability of the company he runs, is expendable, in service of making the JC richer.

Have you noticed, “himself” is back to where he started wrt Ukraine? Excluding Ukraine from negotiations, again, while, again, offering to sign over large chunks of Ukraine to Russia. He wants a Nobel, and he doesn’t care who he stabs in the back to get it.

It’s a rather long read, not sure why.

Some of us remember, during the first go around, how he sneered at the Emoluments Clause, and called it fake.
