That certainly used to be the case.
Former WalMart CEO McMillan loosen the pursue strings. The starting wage at my local WalMart was $13/hour several years ago. Many states now much higher minimum wage than the federal minimum wage.

Walmart is changing how hourly store workers earn raises

Raises for hourly store workers will now be based on performance and tenure
Previously, annual pay adjustments were tied solely to years of service

The average hourly wage for U.S. frontline associates is close to $18

So WalMart like the US military follows:Rank has its own privileges
In fact throughout history humans have followed the above practice.

I r a loyal WalMart shopper and stock holder.

I think Walmart does a very good job online. They acquired Jet and now have a wide variety of merchandise. Often delivered to your closest store w no shipping cost.

A strong competitor vs Amazon.

Yep McMillan was behind that success also.
I have found that recently WalMart ships directly to my home.

The harrowing incident occurred Friday afternoon at the Williamsport, Pennsylvania restaurant where the decedent worked as a cook.

Well, I give him an A+ for originality. I’ve never heard of that one before. I must give him a D on “finding ways to die that aren’t painful” however. There are worse, like slow acting poison, but this one also inconveniences diners at the same time, “inconsiderate” as well as stupid.

Who was it said “All publicity is good publicity”? I don’t think they saw this one.
