What's your fitness age?

And I have to say. I’ve heard plenty of reasons why individuals are having a hard time with weight management… … but being too fit is a new one🤔

People are suggestable. People feel out of energy which is very human. Very few people choose to get fat. Sugar is hidden in products. Products are twisted to be consumed more for commercial purposes.

If you are going to say people choose to get fast you are generally blaming younger people for a wold set up to entice them.

Plus I need to know your weight. You make that choice? Or what is your vice?

I don’t think too many folk choose to get fat … but a heck of a lot of folk don’t make the choices necessary to stay lean (not get fat in the first place) or lose the excess bodyfat when it’s taken up residence. That’s a situation that’s probably going to get worse.

One of the things that I reckon has made it relatively easy to maintain a lean physique in the same obesogenic environment as everyone else is that I never got fat in the first place. A good bit of that was down to my mum and her ideas of sensible and accountable eating habits and good manners. Additionally, since I’ve never been in the habit of overeating, I suspect a daily energy intake that supports my bodyweight and fitness goals is likely to feel uber restrictive and not maintainable for the long haul for someone used to shoveling down 3000 or so Cals a day.

Walking around the shopping mall or downtown during tourist season (pretty much year round here in the Rockies) it’s fairly evident that, among the younger set … and even children…energy intake habits that’ll support a serious excess of bodyfat are becoming established much earlier these days.

There is some luck in staying lean if you are raised in the US. There is also hard work. I do not deny that.

Further insight into relying too much on single, measured biomarkers as a predictor of, well…whatever they’re alleged to predict.

The article mentioned for speedy reference…

I’ve noticed that over the last few years, some of the excellent free resources and websites that were available for the reading a couple of decades or so back aren’t available…paywalls (or attempts at the same) institutional PIN numbers or just “gone”. One of the few that is still around.
