As we get ready for today’s WWDC, lots of speculation out there, so far the star price likes it, before it even starts! Then as usual, it dives a bit…
Siri AI will expand throughout the systems, but not until later this year… NO OS updates today, it seems…
My 2019 iMac has been feeling its age recently, so I guess I’ll start shopping.
It’s a pity, though: The Intel CPU might barely be creaking along, but the screen is still gorgeous.

Can an iMac be used as the display for a Mac Mini? If so, that might be an ideal solution.
The cleanest or perhaps simplest way, IMO, is to log into the mini from the iMac and use screen sharing in full screen.
Other people have hacked the hardware to use the iMac as an external monitor. I’ve seen web pages that show how to do it, but it always struck me as a kind of Franken-mac approach. I’m not sure it’s worth the effort.
I think I’ll go with an M5 Pro Mac Mini (whenever it gets released), but then the question is whether to go with an Apple monitor or a Dell Ultrasharp. I’ve always favored Apple monitors if money were no object, but the Ultrasharps have been so good that paying so much more for Apple’s has always seemed an extravagance.

I know, I have my wife’s old 27" iMac setting by me, here in the office, too nice to toss, but as I look around, I’ve other old timers that served me well, like my Mac Pro, older MacBooks, iBooks, reminders of what was great at the time, but really should be recycled… Aghhhh.. Along with my recent Airpot devices… Aghhh..
(I am using a Dell 32" monitor, so the 27" is surplus..)
