I found this to be a very very interesting article about an aspect of Zoom I had not considered. Essentially this persons office want all employees connected at all times during the work day. Ostensibly to conduct a better work from home balance? But the reality is that it would put whole companies on a Zoom call for 8 or more hours per day! This could be HUGE if it were to become the new normal.

But you pay Zoom by the license not the time spent in calls. They want productive usage as that keeps users paying for licenses but just leaving a PC on connected to a call all the time probably isn’t really productive and not sure I would want to work there, I might join you and drop the collar.
As it is, I am on an average of 4 to 5 hours a day on Zoom like calls, either WFH or WFO. Maybe 20% of the time with video, but that doesn’t change what they get paid either.
