2025 a Transformational Year for US

Yes sales are down somewhat due the ending of the $7500 tax credit.
GM & Hyundai have made inroads to Tesla market share. But Tesla is still dominant.

But- More than 1.27 million electric vehicles were sold in the US last year, accounting for 7.8% of new-car sales, according to new Kelley Blue Book estimates.

Tesla remained the market leader by a wide margin. Even though sales were down for a second consecutive year, Tesla still sold over 589,000 vehicles, accounting for 46.2% of sales.

In 2026 new models and manufacturers will enter the US market space some in more affordable pricing [$35k]. More and more charging stations are being added. I believe more middle class Americans will buy an EV.
Methinks we will ultimately view 2025 as a pause that refreshes.
The president’s position is to utilize the 100% tariff to bring Chinese factories to the USA. Will that position hold? Canada is allowing 49K Chinese EVs into their country next year. But BYD has halted their new Mexico plant plan.
My view is that China has penetrated the world market with the exception of the USA. Those world market spaces need to be developed more with dealerships and repair shops and allow word of mouth of the quality of Chinese EVs to spread and of course increased EV sales.
The China EV market appears to be steady. China I suppose is doing a wait & see in regard to the USA with the hope that the 100% tariff will be lowered.
