I’m a paid subscriber to the New York Times but I hope that others can see this article which shows dogs with funny hairdos.
The winner of the show was a rare breed: a petit basset griffon Vendéen which is a French rabbit-hunting hound. The AKC breed description says that it has to be kept on a leash or in a fenced-in yard, which is a tip-off that this scent hound will follow its nose and get lost if it’s not controlled.
I like watching the show but personally I prefer rescued mutts to expensive purebreds. Our current dogs are both rescues. A border collie/ German Shepherd mix who is as smart, loyal and protective as can be and a flibberty-gibberty English cocker spaniel whom we rescued from a deceased friend’s home.
