According to the press the DOGE layoffs were to come into effect in September. The offices are closed but the employees will be paid until September.

It just wasn’t making sense, the combination of “all these layoffs” and new unemployment claims that have essentially been flat for a year.

It makes perfect sense going forward. If you think looking forward is impossible, consider your money is only looking forward.
In a different post I wrote -
Trump likes easy wins. So he can attack Powell for a month or two. Then come June 18th, Powell will lower rates. And then Trump can say “See, I made him lower the rates. Artofthedeal yada yada yada…”

It is not an either or. The malice is more of the same.
More importantly this is not a difference of opinion where a mistake has been made. That it is all that was meant by prior comments by all of us on the stupidity of politicians.
More importantly the American public has the right to know how stupid this all is and where the blame lies.
The “free press” has not done its job.
Yes. Sadly, the collapsing old line free press no longer attracts smart aggressively inquiring minds, who seem to have moved to social media where the money and more immediate influence lies. The old free press is more and more an egoistic vanity indulgence for wealthy folks

April 12 was a long time ago.
This is a lack of comprehension on an epic scale.
Normally he sees us as people just renting a crap apartment from him. But he can see us as people. We can all be crap to him but we are people. Putin is not on that level of humanity. Trump does not understand that.
There is always a lag for real data.
Initial jobless claims show no significant changes through last week – just four or five days ago. That is about as current as you can get (and is already almost a fourth of the way through the 2nd quarter).
