Look at the prices in store and the prices on line. I hardly ever buy anything at the store anymore.

We continue to hear consumers are squeezed by inflation and spending less. Cutting costs, closing under performing stores fits right in.

But AAP seems a weak player in the industry. Both Autozone and O’Reily have better numbers.

Auto parts tend to be countercyclical in a recession. People keep their cars longer and have more time to work on them when business slows and there is less overtime etc.

So could be a response to strong economy and investors going elsewhere. Less fear of recession.
