Adverse Selection in Health Insurance

Here’s an excellent 10 minute video that explains the concept. Health insurers use “adverse selection” against you to increase the cut to Private Equity and to fuel excessive Executive Compensation in the insurance industry.

The only way to remove “adverse selection” is with a very large pool of customers and single payer health care (i.e., Medicare for All). It’s very important to keep the average voter ignorant of this.

Since health care is now 20% of the US economy, Adverse selection is probably as much of a money maker for the wealthy as the stepped-up cost basis for Estates. We need to eliminate both.

No granular ignorance needed. Brush the entire concept of “big gummit” insurance away with “that’s Communism!!!” No need to actually address any details, or how well it works for the general population.
