Future of Healthcare?

Good article in politico on what changes to healthcare might be in store on a change in government.

Obamacare repeal is dead. But there’s a hankering for lower quality health insurance policies that cover less, and shovel more of your premium dollar to Executive Compensation and for-profit insurance company bureaucracy. The bipartisan holy grail of health care among those congresscritters bought & paid for is “Medicare Advantage for all” – with its 15% skim rate to the insurers. Who wouldn’t love to skim off 15% of the $1.5 Trillion per year currently being administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid?

A proposal floated a few years ago was to convert Medicare from insurance to “premium support”: you get a voucher from Medicare and go shopping among the for profit companies for coverage, and, I assume, adding thousands of dollars of your own money to the voucher to buy coverage for what Medicare covers by itself now.
