The European Commission, the executive body of the EU, launched a probe in July, saying that the proposed deal could result in Amazon hindering iRobot rivals from competing on Amazon’s online marketplace. The commission argued that Amazon could delist or reduce rival products’ prominence in search results or elsewhere.

I am sorry to see this happen. I would have expected Amzn to really propel the robot industry forward. I am wondering if Amzn will now start their own vacuum robot project.

Sorry to say but it was expected that this would happen…

I doubt it. There are already a dozen manufacturers in the space. I think Amazon wanted iRobot not for the vacuums but for the designers and coders, to increase their use of robotics in their distribution chain.
