BEIJING (Reuters) -China will continue to grow bilateral relations with Canada on the basis of mutual respect and equality, the foreign ministry said after Mark Carney won the race to lead Canada’s ruling party and become the next prime minister.
So…will Canada drop the 100% tariff it imposed on Chinese EVs, to placate the USian automakers?

Not sure what will happen but China just put a 100 percent tariff on Canadian seed oil so I am sure they will be talking. I know if I was leading Canada I would be talking to everyone but the United States about trade.
With TIG threatening a 250% tariff on Canadian dairy products, the Canadians might say “why are we worried what the US thinks of our trade policy?”, and drop their tariffs against Chinese product. iirc, the Chinese tariff is in response to Canada’s protectionist tariff on Chinese EVs.

We’re witnessing The Three Stooges foreign policy.
Once upon a time, the Catholic church sold “indulgences”, essentially, personal exceptions to the rules everyone else is supposed to abide by, for a considerable pile of money.
Either way, as the article says, the US is quickly losing trust as a reliable partner.

Wanton breaking of signed agreements, announcing tariffs only to retract them days later, and non-stop lying will do that even to the greatest nation. Who knew?
Certainly not anyone who was a true believer in Shinyness.
