A few hours ago my firm–one of the major accounting firms with over 300,000 employees–just announced that they would be deploying Zoom to every employee’s laptop over the coming days.

I picked up some more this morning.
My daughter’s class starts their e-learning on Monday. Seattle has closed the schools until at the least through April 24th. Here’s a line from the announcement her school sent out.
“* The major platforms we will use are Google Classroom and Zoom (not Google Meet, as previously shared – teachers who have been trying both platforms with their students this week convinced the rest of us that Zoom is the way to go).”

My local meditation center and Unitarian Universalist society will be holding classes and services, respectively, over Zoom for the next few weeks. In other words, Zoom is easy enough to use that non-technical folks can adopt it quickly.

Make that another Zoom user as of 15 minutes ago. I had to download it for a 3 pm meeting this afternoon. Will be interested to see how it goes as most of us will be complete Zoom novices at the meeting.
