Anyone still following ZScaler?

I admit that I didn’t sell completely out of ZS when it disappointed us, but today it just hit an ATH (barely). I haven’t seen any news about it - earnings come out Sept 9th. Last earnings report was a surprise to the upside.

Any recent thoughts on what to expect? Doesn’t seem the Cloudflare competition has hurt it in Wall St’s eyes.

I only recently sold the last bit of Zs from a taxable account and bought NET with the proceeds. I appreciate their efficiency in generating incremental revenue from what they’ve built; but, seeing The increasing competition Zs will have with Cloudflare’s Argo Tunnel/ Teams product and not hearing anything about Zs developing onto their ‘edge network’ I see NET with more growth potential.

Smorg, I really value your experience. Will you share your initial reaction to the news yesterday about one of the Higher ups at NET getting arrested for covering up a hack while he was at Uber?

Well Cloudflare knew about that event and his role at Uber in 2016 when they hired him:

I don’t know what the market may think.

I unfortunately sold my ZS (and Square)just before last earning call. The fear of a bad report by both companies cost me tens of thousands in potential profit.

This is OT, so let’s not get started on a thread about how to do it, but I bought back into ZS via a synthetic long. My profits have been through the roof.

But more to the point, I believe in the ZS story. I think the WFH trend will make this more and more valuable. I am not sure what to think of any competition from NET, which I also own, but think that zero trust will make communications between home and office and cloud native platforms more secure. In the long run I believe ZS will save corporations big dollars by eleminating staff and network infrastructure, while providing more security.

Emotions got the best of me last earnings report. I don’t know what to expect this next quarter. ZS had a good earnings report last quarter, and with a new head of marketing and sales firing on all cylinders, I should think we should be in for a good report this time.

Unfortunately, I have no way to verify my hunches . . . my crystal ball is fairly foggy today, what with all the humidity here in Virginia.

Gordon,

I didn’t delete your post this time, but any more with mentions of synthetic longs, etc, will go. I promise.
