AYX New Product

AYX in a press release announced a new suite of products to extend the power and utility of their existing platform. According to AYX VP these were created in response to feedback from current clientele. The objective is to make data available to everyone and easier to use.

One of the products is Analytics Hub a descrition is included in the release.

Analytics Hub consolidates analytic assets into one secure, scalable and intuitive platform. While the Alteryx APA Platform already helps scores of businesses solve complex problems by unifying analytics, data science and business process automation, the Analytics Hub also allows data workers to share and collaborate across teams. This eliminates siloes that hold back transformation across an organization. Regardless of data expertise, Analytics Hub takes users from data discovery, to insight, to action while automating repetitive, time-consuming data processes. With Analytics Hub, the time from data to decision is rapid, and flexible deployment (cloud, on-site, or using a multi-node environment) means organizations can scale the platform with ease.

A second product is a multi threaded processing engine which allow processes to proceed simultaneously. As described in the release.

This gives workers the ability to have multiple projects running simultaneously, which saves time and frees them up to focus on the next analytic challenge.

So what impact do these new products have? I get the importance of Data Analytics and the ease of combining data from different sources. I’ve read much of the material on their website, but not being a real techie, not much is retained. I certainly do not understand this business enough to know if the new Analytics Hub and multi-threaded processing engine are “big” and will be a huge draw for customers or if they will get the “oh, that’s nice” treatment.

Will these accelerate Alteryx’ Covid recovery which was expected in the later half of the year to the next reporting in August?

Can someone who works with this stuff elucidate? It certainly has affected the stock price since being announced…up @17%. I’m wondering whether I should reallocate some funds in anticipation.

Thanks in advance,
Fafar

I am not a techie nor can I offer any specifics about impact. However I was impressed by 2 points made in one of the reports on this subject. First these new offerings were developed in response to customer feedback about preferences. This speaks to the issue of AYX customer service and to increased expand options as part of the ‘land and expand’ strategy. There was also reference to favorable client reception to the new products.

So the implications are favorable regarding expansion ratios, retention, a stronger ‘moat’ and product attractiveness. All positives. So it seems like an enhanced draw for customers and its just one more element in an array of offerings which are “bigger” in the aggregate.

Thanks DRAJ,
I also picked up on some of those points when I read the press release. I was hoping someone might be able to say “how much” of an impact they would have, esp in the near term. Overall, it can only add to their success I’m sure.

I’m hoping their customer suggestions have more widespread application than the suggestions I would get as a software proj mgr (a million years ago), which were so company-specific that most of them we’d only do as a custom modification rather than incorporate them into the general release. We were a tiny little company though, so undoubtedly not the same thing.
