Can captured illegal apply for assylum?

If yes, illegal gets four years in the US waiting for his case to come before a judge.

A good example of the bad laws (with loop holes) Congress gives us.

The smart folks surrender to the Border Patrol the moment they set foot in the country.

I think you can depend on a return to “stay in Mexico until your court date”.

While B-1 or B-2 visas may be valid up to 10 years, visitors on B-1 or B-2 will only be permitted to stay in the United States for a maximum of six months .

When my mother visited her family in LA she wanted to stay longer. By requesting an extension - which was denied - she got an extra three months.

It’s good to be within the bounds of the law… close to the edges…

Closing the border to asylum seekers when the system is overloaded is also a good idea.

Asylum seeker should see a judge within say 30 days. If no slots available application denied.

Need more judges to work through the backlog.

And better laws.

Require the same “30 days or denied” of ALL court cases in the US. Kamala would be Pres and TOT would be in Gitmo.

There was a bill in Congress, several months ago, that would have funded more immigration courts. The bill was dropped.

Yes, and many opposed it because it closed the border after 5000/day average. Thats 1.8mm per year. Too many.

We shall see what the new Congress will do. More judges and deportations for sure.

We hope for full scale immigration reform but thats a tall order.

Criminals routinely see a judge within a few days to decide if they should get bail or not. Also if they can be kept in jail.

Think like a weasel. With the return of “stay in Mexico”, some will argue the problem is solved. No need to increase funding for immigration courts to hear cases. Cut funding instead. Because, if they aren’t already in the US, there is no urgency to hear their cases. Right?

But of course we already have millions of asylum seekers waiting for trial. And millions of illegals. Will they be deported with seeing a judge? Doubtful.

Clearly more judges and more border patrol people are needed.

Funding the big tax cut does require some creativity. We shall see how they do that.
