Cargill expanding renewable bunker fuel for ships including biodiesel and methanol as well as adding sails to ships.

C&EN reports that green methanol is receiving attention. Carbon dioxide captured from cement kiln or limestone kilns will be reacted with green hydrogen to make green methanol. Green methanol is of increased interest as a fuel for ocean ships. Also article notes technology to convert it to polypropylene plastic.

CRI (Carbon Recycling International) in China is building plant. Mitsubishi Gas Chemicals has one in the works in Australia.
