That said he never got wealthy trading.
Only long term buy and hold can make someone very wealthy. If you have to hold till relieve that is bad judgement.

Dave had massive medical bills. He traded to generate current income.

He was retirement age. He had Medicare. The supplemental policies back then were about $3200 per year.
I do not know why he would have had massive medical bills.
