Cause of Death: End Stage Poverty

So long as my space was clean and cleanable, and reasonably lightproof and sound resistant (so that earplugs would serve for going to sleep), I would be fine.

Many many of the homeless people I have known (pregnant mother under a bridge sleeping in mud, homeless kid hoping I would prostitute him for the night) would have been thrilled to. be offered such.

I hear ya Steve. Sounds similar to the space I was granted on the USCGC Gentian.

Ah, well that’s slightly different. Hence the name “coffins”. I missed it completely. Ah well, wouldn’t be the first time.

Does the government have an obligation to house people?

Can I deduct my mortgage from my taxes?

You can deduct the interest you paid on the first $750,000 of your mortgage during the relevant tax year. For married couples filing separately, that limit is $375,000, according to the Internal Revenue Service.Mar 13, 2024

Now flip it around. We make the lower middle class poor and then question any government support. But if you buy a home for $750k you want a mortgage interest deduction that is close to the lower middle class yearly income.

The supply-side econ idea is to attack the poor so you can get a tax cut as well. Just berate poor people to death quite literally.

Now in dollar and cents terms if the supply-siders get all those wishes of death for poor people our GDP growth is very poor. The debt mounts up. We fail our industrial base.

I can see how absolutely stupid all of that is.

That isn’t a subsidy for home ownership. It is a subsidy for being in debt.

I paid off my mortgage in the late 90s.

I still own the same condo, over 20 years later, but the government has not subsidized me in many years.

I got one of those edited. Yes Mortgage interest deduction.

I know but had a late night. adding ah that quote was the Google question.

It can be seen as a banking favor by the US government. It can be seen as a way to prop up home prices. It can be seen as a favor to the construction industry.

It comes at a cost to the working poor or in others words half of all Americans are propping up some very lazy fat heads who would screw around on them.
