Had my internet updated to 10G today, performed a speedtest and only got 8090 Mbs download and 6198 Mbs upload… probably should complain

I like Comcast. They are currently being honest with my condo association. The company did a complete infrastructure buildout here and gave us very good rates.
You think Comcast is bad you have not tried Frontier.
The technician plugged his iPad directly into the router through an adapter to the Lightning port. My PC can not get the same speed, now maxes out just under 1Gig

That is probably because of your NIC card. 10 gig is an amazing amount of bandwidth. When I was working most banks were happy to get a few t1’s but they were probably more interested in the security than the bandwidth. I can’t imagine what I would do with 10 gig but if it was cheap that would make me very happy.

Yes, my card is capped at 1000Mbs. I don’t have a need to get any faster, the costs was the same as I was previously paying and came with a beast of a Wireless router.

To be honest, nothing. i get much faster access and a much better wireless router for the same I was paying before but locked myself into a 2 year commitment instead of M2M.
I do find it amazing I can pay about $60 per month for this type of speed compared to having to pay 10k per month for about 10Mbs for a fractional DS3 in the early 2000’s. And the equipment took a full rack
